October Camp 2005 Tignes
Calling all F.A.S.T Skiers
If you haven’t heard of FAST before then read on…………….
Focussed Alpine Scottish Camps is the brand name of the Scottish Combined Alpine Camps initiative.
There are two main aims:
(1) to increase cooperation between Clubs resulting in better planned and less fragmented year round training programmes for young Scottish skiers and
(2) to maximise economies of scale allowing foreign camps to be run more efficiently.
Why Tignes
Tignes glacier has an excellent variety of pistes for training. In October the glacier often has real ‘winter’ snow which allows us to train full length days.
There’s also tree top adventuring, mountain biking, water jumping and hiking – a bit of fun in amongst the hard work on skis!
Camp Dates and Travel
Departure Scotland 7 October, returning 23 October, travel both ways by bus.
We can offer a one week option with Geneva transfers but you’ll have to arrange your own one way flights.
Accommodation
Half board with packed lunch at Hotel Curling, Tignes – a few minutes walk from the funicular.
Programme
You’ll be working on core technique and technical skills – free skiing is a big part of the programme as well as lane training.
Coaches
The head coach will be Ronnie Naismith (ASC), plus one other coach from CSC; other coaches dependent upon final numbers – we aim for a 1 in 7 ratio.
Ages
The camp is open to those in any Snowsport Scotland affiliated Club in the Children’s age group (those born 1991-1994).

Dates and all inclusive Cost:
| Two week camp : 7-23 October | estimated £1200 - £1400 plus flight costs |
| One week camp : 7-15 or 15-23 October | estimated £ 600 - £ 800 plus flight costs |
Costs will be finalised when we know the number of participants.
Note – for one week participants the bus can take all your skis and baggage so avoiding excess baggage costs on the flights.
