The Scottish Ski Club was founded as long ago as 1907 to promote all types of skiing in Scotland. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in skiing. We offer a wide range of facilities to our members, backed up by a wealth of experience and knowledge covering the whole spectrum of skiing. We have built huts at the skiing areas to provide excellent meeting places for members as well as a secure refuge from the elements. The huts on Cairngorm, at Glenshee and on Meall a'Bhuiridh (Glencoe) are modern timber structures designed especially for the Club. You can ski to the door of each, or reach them by a short walk. More recently, we opened a Club Room beneath the Snowgoose Restaurant on Aonach Mor. Inside each, you will find warmth and friendship and, at certain times, catering facilities.

The Club keeps in touch with its membership via the quarterly newsletter. This contains details of current club affairs, forthcoming attractions and reports of recent events. The Club Journal is a permanent record which is produced annually and is sent free to all members. It contains articles on many aspects of Scottish and Alpine skiing and reports of the previous season's club activities. A particular feature of the Journal is the range and quality of the photographs it contains.

Racing and Race Training are major Club activities. Over the years we have nurtured a high proportion of British Olympic team members to prominence in the sport. Each season we offer race training at Cairngorm and Nevis Range, and organise up to four Alpine training camps, as well as being responsible for running about 10 races in Scotland.
